My Thoughts on: Toffee the Lizard from Star vs The Forces of Evil (May contain: Spoilers for Battle of Mewni)

I grew up with Disney. But I have never seen such a intresting villain as Toffee from Star vs The Forces of Evil.  A lizard like monster that had this personal vendetta against the royal family of Mewni.

Toffee was first introduced in episode 16 of Season 1 of Star vs The Forces of Evil called Fortune Cookies where Ludo hires him to be his evil

efficiency expert . Toffee then advises a plan where they put false fortunes in hopes of getting Star’s wand. Now when I first saw this episode I was thrilled to hear Michael C Hall’s voice coming out of Toffee’s mouth. Why you ask?  Well he had previously been playing another psychopath in a little show called Dexter.

Now this show was the best in my opinion. You know what I’ll et this little Wikipedia stub explain. it better.

Orphaned at age three, when his mother was brutally murdered by a man with a chainsaw, and harboring a traumatic secret, Dexter (Michael C. Hall) was adopted by Miami policeman Harry Morgan (James Remar), who recognized the boy’s homicidal, psychopathic tendencies and taught him to channel his gruesome passion for killing in a “constructive” way—by killing only heinous criminals (such as child molesters, mob assassins, rapists, serial killers of the innocent, etc.) who had slipped through the justice system. To satisfy his interest in blood and to facilitate his own crimes, Dexter works as a forensic technician specializing in bloodstain pattern analysis, for the Miami Metro Police Department (based on the real-life Miami-Dade Police Department).

Although his drive to kill is unflinching, he is able to simulate, and in some cases feel, normal emotions and maintain his appearance as a socially responsible human being. Dexter is extremely cautious in his kills – e.g., he wears gloves and uses plastic-wrapped kill rooms, carefully cleans up afterward, and disposes of bodies in the ocean – to reduce the chances of detection

Alas this show only ran for eight seasons (

October 1, 2006 – September 22, 2013) which was sad. I mean c’mon this show deserved at leas ten more seasons.  it also got a animated web series in 2009.

Now I don’t know why Disney decided to cast Michael C Hall as Toffee for Star vs The Forces of Evil but one thing is certain he certainly fit the role to a t. Now I wish there could’ve been a more elaborate battle scene between Star and Toffee in the Battle for Mewni special instead of her just blasting him with her wand. I would’ve liked to see Eclipsa and Toffee join forces. I would like to have seen more back story for Toffee as to why he became this evil general for a monster army. But alas that was not the case. But hoever I wil still always remember Toffee as one of Disney’s most intresting villains.
