troubledsurvivors:

“Age is just a number.”

Here are situations that phrase is meant for:

  • When your grandpa is feeling really old because he just turned 80.
  • When you and your partner want to get married but you are both in your 60s and feel that it is too late in life to do that.
  • When your grandkid tells you that you are too old to be playing LEGO’s
  • When your judgemental coworker says you are too old to quit your job to start your own business
  • When your teenager gets embarrassed and says they’re too old to be dropped off at school.
  • Etc..

The situation where the phrase isn’t okay:

  • When you are excusing pedos making advances or being in relationships with minors
  • When someone is grooming a minor with that phrase
  • Really anything to do with being a creep.

Thanks for coming to my Ted talk

Some of my thoughts after watching Dan and Phil’s latest video (Suicide Mention)

I remember when I first subscribed to them back in 2009 I was like “Handsome bois. Immediate subscribe” but as the years have passed I’ve come to realize that they are more than these pretty guys that people like to ship together. I have grown to see them as heroes. Why? Well…

  1. They have both been open about their struggles which inspired me to get help for my mental illness among other things.
  2. They have raised money for cancer research
  3. Dan is an ambassador for a British mental health organization
  4. They have their struggles. They are real human beings with valid feelings and they too can struggle with things (As they pointed out in their mukbang video)

So in conclusion. Dan and Phil are more than just pretty faces. They are heroes and I hope everyone else in the Phandom sees them as such and I was a fool for treating them as anything else but heroes. Dan and Phil are heroes and a major reason why I am even still alive to this day and why I decided to finally stop lying to myself and get help with my mental illness. Dan and Phil are the reasons I changed my mind about commiting suicide when I lost my mom back in 2012 at the ripe age of 17. Here is a comment I posted on both Dan’s Instagram and the mukbang video because I want them to see how much of an impact on my life they have had.

Dan I hope you know that if it weren’t for you and Phil I wouldn’t be here to type this comment saying how much you saved my life. I lost my mom back in 2012 and I was contemplating ending it all but then I started binge watching your videos and I changed my mind about ending my own life. If I had gotten to meet you in Stockholm for Interactive Introverts back in June (which is still to this day is a surreal experience to have seen you IRL) I would’ve told you this…. but thank you…. thank you so much for making me realize that life is worth living. Thank you for saving my life in every way. I guess in a way I have the courage to exist

So I will show this post to everyone who mocks me for admiring them and show them my reasons for my admiration.

Thank you Dan and Phil!

Thank you for inspiring so many people.

Thank you for existing

Thank you for everything you’ve done for people who’ve and still are struggling.
