My letter to Big Tobacco

signal-bike-rider-mach:

Dear Big Tobacco executives!

Your products have killed people like Gruen Van Behrens, Debi Austin, Barb Tarbox, Terrie Hall and many more

This is form the World Health Organization’s official website and I assure you these aren’t lies.

Yet you say things like “Tobacco is no more addicting than TV” or deny the fact that cigarettes are harmful. You destroy scientific evidence that shows just how harmful cigarettes can be. You turn a blind eye to all the deaths and diseaases your products causes.

When will you realize the damage you are doing Big Tobacco? . Families are torn apart by cigarettes, Mothers have lost their babies due to cigarettes!??! When is it ever gonna sink in that you are killers. When are this unwanted deaths ever gonna stop!?!?!?!?!? WHEN?!?!?!

PLEASE BIG TOBACCO NO MORE OF THIS. NO MORE PREMATURE DEATHS. NO MORE PEOPLE SICK IN CANCER. NO MORE EMPHYSEMA. NO MORE CANCER OF THE LARNYX, BLADDER,THROAT, MOUTH AND LUNGS

NO MORE!!!

Please just think of what you are doing to the people.

Best regards

Victoria Ademi

Project SCUM was a plan proposed in 1995 by R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company (RJR) to sell cigarettes to members of the ”alternative lifestyle” areas of San Francisco, in particular the large number of gay people in the Castro and homeless people in the Tenderloin. The acronym ”SCUM” stood for ”subculture urban marketing.” Perhaps recognizing the offensive nature of its label, the marketing plan was later renamed Project Sourdough.

This will hound you forever Big Tobacco!!

Reasons to Keep Writing

everyone starts small. just because you’re not big now, doesn’t mean you’ll never be. and if you’re just starting out, keep in mind those bigger blogs have been writing for much longer than you. building a following takes time.

there will always be someone who enjoys your writing. every like, reblog, and comment is one person who enjoyed what you wrote and i can assure you they want more! and remember, not everyone remembers to leave evidence that they liked your writing or they might just be too nervous to interact with you. invisible fans exist, and you’ve got them.

going along with that last one, your writing has the potential to help others! you could write about a minority, or maybe you could publish a little something comforting at the exact time someone else needs it. and most of the time, when you affect someone like this they’ll tell you, whether it be through tags, or a private message or whatever. that’s an amazing feeling.

getting a compliment from someone becomes a sure-fire way to make your day better. nothing feels greater than seeing a comment from someone saying how much they love something you worked hard on. maybe write down these comments somewhere, so you can look at them when you’re feeling negative about your skills as a writer.

writer’s block is not the end of your writing career. it sure feels like it sometimes, but everyone, even the popular writers you look up to, suffer from writer’s block. everyone puts out work they’re not 100% satisfied with sometimes, and that’s okay! when you get out of this slump, your writing will be better than ever before and you’ll enjoy it again. keep writing through a block so you can get there sooner.

These are the things I think about when I feel bad about my writing, so I hope they can help someone else too.

I know someone needs this

Meet Nick O’Teen. The embodiment of Nicotine Addiciton

Scene 1: A man in a grey tuxedo with a tie that looks like a cigarette enters a room. His face is gray and ashy and his eyes are sunken in and glow red. hE has equally ashy and grey hair despite his young appearance from whis smal streams of smoke comes from.  He sits on a stool located in the middle of the room and looks at the camera with a devilish grin.

Nick O’Teen: Hello all young people out in the world. My name is Nick O’Teen. Long story short I am the embodiment of Nicotine Addicition. I am here to tell you about this *he holds up a cigarette with an even wider smirk* this is a cigarette. One drag of this and you are hooked…or maybe it  will take a few cigs to get oyu hooked. Either way you’re hooked. Sure one single cigarette contains  over 7000 chemicals including but not limited to carbon monoxide(in the smoke alone), cyanide, formeldahyde, benzene, ammonia and so on and so forth

*Nick O’Teen pauses to cough. He coughs so hard his lung exits his mouth*

Nick O’Teen: Oh and did I mention all the health problems you get? This is my favorite part. This lil baby can cause cancer in the mouth, larnyx, bladder and lungs. Isn’t that great and it causes fat to clog up your arteries… and maybe give you a heart attack. Did I mention the early wrinkles you’ll get? Oh and yellow nails, bad breath, stunted lungs and stained teeth. DOn’t forget that tobacco kills 1200 people every year. But don’t let me spoil the suprise for you. Go on…take a drag

*Scene ends with Nick O’Teen disappearing leaving the cigarette on the stool as the camera zooms in on the cigarette a list of few of the people who has died of tobacco related diseases scroll up the screen like movie credits*
