Earth Day 2017: Are we not able to save the Amazonas Rainforest?

So…. I read a article called “Earth Day 2017; The five Enviromental Fights we have already lost” and I saw the Amazonas on the list.

…. does that mean we are never able to save the Amazonas? Like never? It scares me to no end how we humans destroy
