Whalers killed at least 2.8 million whales in the 20th century, worldwide, according to a new study. Scientists believe that 20th century whaling wiped out 90 percent of all blue whales, and decimated countless other whale populations. Some species, such as the minke whale, appear to have recovered; others, like humpback and blue whales, remain close to extinction.
This needs to change. Whales like many other animals on this planet are here for a reason. Greed is the main reason some whales are decreasing in number. If we don’t do anything the humpback and blue whales will be a thing of the past. We need to help the whales the best we can. Spread information. Send a petition to the government. Anything to help these animals stay on this planet for together we can all make a change.
