He chuckled. ”I ain’t afraid a no lions. I killed lions before. But you…you better be afraid a what I’ll do to this kid if you don’t gimme what I want. I hear you got a grub coming soon. Some kinda human-alien THING. I want it. I’ll just hang onta her until you get back to me on that.” She whined in th background. ”Don’t do it!” ”I said quiet!” There was the muffled sound of a slap and a loud scream, followed by the hiss of a lizard.

“Leave her alone you creep….who are you anyway?” Peter asked.

“I just wnat to check on her” Peter said

The man considered. “Fine. But only for a few minutes and I’m listening to the whole thing, got it?”

“Thanks” Peter said

“Whatever.” He humphed. The phone was forced toward her with a startled whimper and a hiss from the same lizard as before. “H-hello?…” It was her voice. Frightened, soaked with tears, but still, it was her.

“Kay it’s me calm down. I won’t let him get away with this” Peter said

“I’m scared, Petey. This guy’s crazy, and he has a giant lizard-ow!”

“Kay what#8217;s wrong…what did he do to you?” Peter asked

“N-nothing. I just snagged my arm is all.” The lie was obvious, but the man was right there, glaring her down. It was scaring her.

“Kay..what is that asshole doing to you.? ” Peter asked
